Location: English Harbour, Antigua

Today, the students of the Frenchie boat awoke to the song we all know and love, “Bikini Bottom Day.” The chef and sous chef (Derrick and Carson) served delicious pancakes for breakfast around 8.30. During morning clean up, a terrible disaster occurred! Sloane accidentally dropped the deckie bucket in the ocean. The water was 40 feet deep, and surely we weren’t getting it back. Fear not, for Jack immediately dove into the water, risking his sense of hearing due to the pressure, and rescued the bucket. What a relief! After clean up, we put up the main and jib sail, and that started our journey to Antigua around 11.00. The first couple of hours were filled with naps and slightly rough sailing until we received a distress signal from a French boat. Zoe, a Canadian French gal, had to translate, but she said it was difficult to understand due to the poor quality radio. Mac and Cheese was later made by Derrick and Adnan since Carson was not feeling well.

After a delicious lunch, the journey continued, and we later tacked at the island of Montserrat. Sooner or later, dinner was made at around 6.30, and it was rice and chili with barely any cheese. The boat got to experience a scenic view of the sunset, and watch teams began. The first watch team ( Derrick, Sloane, and Peter) sailed from 8.00-10.00. The second watch team (Jack, Dasha, and Z) sailed from 10.00-12.00. The third watch team, technically only Zoe and Adnan since Claire and Carson were sick and asleep, sailed from 12.00-2.00 and anchored the boat in antigua. Now that the journey is done, the whole boat is sound asleep.
