Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today we woke up to the smell of Ayden, Bryan, and Ollie cooking pancakes. Most people were sleeping outside on hammocks or on the couches, even though it started raining midway through the night. We got up, and Ellie got picked up to go do her community service with the other Quest kids (painting a school). The rest of us got up and started rotations, scuba diving (my first day ever), and water skiing. We only had two rotation periods today because we then sailed to Vixen Point, where we are staying the night. When we arrived, Ayden taught us some knots that are helpful around the boat. After we finished learning about the knots, we all started jumping into the boat. Anzie had the idea to play a game where you get a category when you jump, and before you reach the water, you have to give something in that category. Surprisingly, it’s harder than it looks (Natalie and I only got one). Graham and Skylar did some flips off the dinghy. Bryan spotted a huge Barracuda (which we named Barry), and then Clark and Noah jumped in to investigate. After a dinner of broccoli and cheese pasta, we had a saltine challenge: six saltines in 60 seconds. It was super funny and a lot harder than expected. Saltines got everywhere, which the poor Deckies, Anika and Ellie, had to clean up. For our squeeze game was Down by the Bank, and Gwyneth won! Today was super fun and we all can’t wait for more fun tomorrow.
