Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Every night, a group of people sleep outside but get rained on and have to relocate. Last night there was no rain and Ollie was very happy about it. We had a tasty breakfast of cereal to give us some fuel for the fun activities we had planned for the day. Our first activity was zesting. Joshua and I, Meredith, were struggling but eventually got the hang of it. Hopie and LuLu were much better than their first attempt. After we had water sports, where Grayson attempted to do a 360, Wilkes and LuLu got up on the wake, and Grayson and Ollie jumped the wake. Lucy, Ollie, and Ella S went water skiing and jumped the wake.
We also saw turtles, and Matty P saw a jumping eagle ray!! While on the boat, Ella W learned how to do a backflip. Wilkes and Josie prepared a yummy lunch of mac and cheese. We then went snorkeling to see the mangroves, and we learned how to correctly dive into the water while snorkeling. Lucy, Thompson, and Hopie became pros at it. We saw some sea cucumber, an eel, feather dusters, and many cool fish, such as a baby barracuda. After that, we went stand-up paddle boarding and had a relay race. Grayson, Wilkes, Josie, and I made friends with people on another boat, Alpin Glow. Joshua and Josie also raced another staff member on the paddle boards. We came back to another tasty meal of veggie burgers made by Grayson. To end the dinner, for the squeeze, we said our appreciation of the day and who we were most excited to call tomorrow, and we each complimented the person to our right. After dinner, Mike (the director) came by for a nice chat. To end the night, we have another video teaching us how to dive. Today was an awesome rotation day filled with fun activities. These types of days are quickly becoming our favorite, and we can’t wait for more!!
