Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today was Rhone day! (Yayyyy!). We started the day with a 4 am sail over to the Rhone dive site, where Mia, Joey, Grace, and Amanda consumed enough caffeine to last them a week. Then them, the dive masters, and other staff members went on a dive where they saw a shark, a turtle, and an eagle ray (without me). Afterwards, everyone else aboard woke up and ate breakfast (cereal). Immediately after we all got ready to dive the wreck of the Rhone (Yayyyy), both open water and advanced people got to dive together and with the dive masters, which was pretty cool. In the water, the current was crazy strong, which was pretty annoying. We descended and got to the wreck, which was freakin awesome. We got to dive both halves of the wreck, which were covered in coral and lots of cool fish and things. We dove along the length of the ship and were planning on doing a swim through, but the current was too strong, so we couldn’t.
Heading back to the boat was way easier since the current basically did all of the work, and the safety stop was a little tricky. As everybody was getting back into the boat, Elliot gave Anzie his fin, but she dropped it by accident since it was slippery, and it went all the way to the bottom. Amanda went to get it, and she saw a shark, which was pretty cool. Then everyone went to Eole to do their sailing tests. Harper, Mathilda, and Elliot did the basic one, and Augustine, Robbie, Dylan, and Wyatt did their advanced tests. Justin and Elliot didn’t have to take one, but Elliot did since he’s super cool and did it anyway because he wants to get certified even though it’s not part of the program he’s doing. After that, we went back to the hotel and ate lunch (Ramen), which was alright. Then, everyone went back to Eole, where we went to the beach with everyone on that boat to try and find hermit crabs and or catch a goat.
After that, we went on a hike, and afterwards, we began our epic prank that we had planned all day. We took the dinghies over to Glad 2 Be Here and tied all of their pots and pans and water bottles and stuff to the main halyard and hoisted it up super high. Then we hid all of their PFDs in the sail bag and hid all of their silverware above the cabinets in their galley. The best part about it is that we got to see their reaction and then drive off very fast in the dinghy. After we got back to the boat, we got underway and headed for GHP Bay for the mega raft, which was where all of the sailside boats rafted together. After dinner (Mexican night) and a surprise dive chat and a sail chat, everyone hung out on all the boats, and it was super fun. Then we all went to bed and had a good sleep.
