Location: Passage back to BVI’s

Good Morning, sleepy heads. Today, we woke up at around 8:00 to scrambled eggs and heavy rainfall here at Barths. In case you weren’t aware, this was our last day at Barths due to some tropical storm brewing near us. Anyways, after the cleanup, we all went downstairs to do sail chat and learn all about VHF (to all the parents reading this: it’s basically walkie-talkies and how boats talk to each other), we learnt about the radio alphabet, emergency stuff, and how these complex radio wave machines actually work. After what felt like an hour, we then went to have some shore time. At shore time, we split up and went to different restaurants. Hayes, Evan, Walker, and I had a second breakfast at a little corner bar since the eggs the boat prepared this morning weren’t enough, probably the best breakfast on this trip (better than soggy cereal or oats, that’s for sure). Shawn then joined us with his Poke bowl.

We then all regrouped back at the dock at around 2 pm, we played some poker and other card games, and then we prepared the boat for the passage to Virgin Gorda. Giles started off with the Helm and sang along to some songs. Henry Shawn and I then proceeded to take a nap like we always do. After an hour or so, we all woke up to see the island of Sint Maarten for a far. We then watched the sunset and got into the sailing. Luckily for us, it was a clear sky (for now), and we watched the stars and listened to music. Christina and Nate talked for about 3 hours straight. Stella, Lauryl, Shawn, and I sat down on the side of the boat, looking at the waters’ bioluminescence, the stars, and now the lightning in the distance. Safe to say today was yet another amazing and unforgettable day on our trip. See you all on tomorrow’s blog!
