Today was race day, so we had to eat breakfast quickly and at 9 a.m. all the boats lined up and raced to West End , the port we left from on the first day. Hope came in as the second catamaran, we were after Oryx and just front of Eolé. Robert was at the helm and I was helping with lines in the power tower. Wyatt came up with a dress code which was inside out PFDs, a backwards ball caps with cool sunglasses. After the first race we went ashore and ate lunch at a restaurant and when shopping. After we got back on the boat, we prepped for the second race, Elliot was driving the boat for the race. The race was up wind so we had to tack a lot. We also had to unfurl and switch the jib very quickly, so in order to do that we had a team of every one who didn’t already have a job in the dinning area with the jib sheet and they pulled it so quickly that we didn’t need to winch it in. In the second race we won 3rd place. We had chili for dinner and tonight we need to sleep with life jackets because we are leaving at 4 in the morning tomorrow.
