Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
We sailed from Sandy Spit to West End on Tortola. We practiced tacking, jibing, keeping the boat straight, and having fun. We had a blast. Then we had shore time. There were two restaurants and they both had great food. Then we prepared for the race. We had to sail upwind all the way to Peter Island. It was a good 2.5-3 hour sail. It was a close competition between the crew of Sans Souci and Blue Tide. We had the lead for most of it, then they passed us. Gabe reminded us that if we Kiae, it will get done somehow (Kiae is a type of screaming that is loud and gets us working). It worked! We pulled back in front of Blue Tide and took the victory. None of us could have done it without each other, but we still won! We dropped our anchors and started the process of preparing dinner. It was Mexican night tonight! Our chefs and staff helped us prepare an absolutely scrumptious dinner. We finished off the night with a sail chat. Overall it was a great day filled with hard work, companionship, and camaraderie to help us get the win!
