Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Today we had an earlier start, around 6 am, so that we could sail to the baths before the crowd. This was exciting for many as last year, during session two, we did not visit the baths due to the pandemic. We had a great time exploring, climbing, cliff jumping, and swimming. From there, we sailed to Spanish Town, which was the first time we got to go to shore, so everyone was looking forward to that. We went to the grocery store to fill up on snacks and then had our first meal off the boat at a local restaurant. Some people got ice cream, and then we went to hang out with Xanadu II, which is our favorite boat in the fleet. We were kind enough to share our exotic cheese, and they returned the favor by giving us a spoon. We then prepared the boat to sail to Mountain Point, our final destination for the day. While sailing, we worked on our bookwork for search and recovery to be prepared for our lesson after dinner. Upon our arrival, we prepared for surface rescue practice which we learned about last night. We had fun pretending to be tired and panicked divers while being rescued by other shipmates. Once that was over, we showered and ate beef stroganoff for dinner. To end the night, we had a lecture and watched a video to prepare us for another awesome day of diving tomorrow! Overall a great day, and we are excited about what’s to come.
