Welcome back to your children’s daily proof of life! This morning, PJ3 awoke to the fact that staff had deserted us for a staff meeting, and the only provisions left were pancakes. Alivia and Gabriel stepped up to the task and made more than enough as our boat seemed to have a very hearty appetite (Darby.) The pancakes were absolutely delectable, and as soon as they were all eaten, Lauren, Jules, and Kieran fell right back to sleep. Jake, Megan, Dave, and Gordon returned all in one piece with news that we were setting sail and the day ahead of us was about to be very action-packed. Dive 1 out of 3 took place at the wreck, Kodiak Queen, and everyone was buzzing with excitement at the fact we would be able to penetrate it. The Neptunes practiced tying lines on the wreck, and Ruby and Emma did a great job mastering the bowline knot and lining different points on the boat!
Meanwhile, the dolphins had a fun dive and messed around exploring the ship, but afterward, they gathered information for their reef dive and mapped out ecosystems. After the first dive, lunch was made, which was Tuscan white bean soup, although some had PB&J! Quickly after, we kitted back up and went down for our second dive of the day, in which we actually entered the wreck! Calvin had an amazing time, and the wreck itself was so impressive. It was just an amazing experience. I can speak for everyone when I say we could all not be more grateful that we are finally wreck diver certified!! It was a very nap-filled day as most of the sailing time was spent in a boat-wide hibernation, so there was not much to report in that regard. With that being said, we set sail again and are currently in Musk Melon Bay, prepping for our third and final dive, a night dive, which we will be navigating alone and earning our specialties! Darby and Teddy, as I am writing this, are doing six laps around the boat in a very impressive show of athleticism that is making me, for one, tired. Until next time!
