Today was a crazy day, to say the least, and before you ask Mom, yes, I unfortunately did lose my hat yesterday. Will (Captain) started the day at seven playing “X gonna give it to ya” on literally full blast. We then started heading towards the first dive spot of the day called Shark Planes, which are pretty self-explanatory planes in the shape of sharks. The amount of jellyfish that were there was absurd, every movement it looked like another jellyfish spawned in, lucky for us most of them were moon jellyfish (which don’t sting) but poor Gene (Dive Instructor) did get stung by a different type. Kaleigh loved my American flag pants while diving, but she didn’t want to say it to my face. When we got out of the water, we packed our gear up as fast as possible because, unlike other days, this was the first day we had two dives. Let’s just say some people didn’t apply enough sunscreen. Lucy and Alex will probably put sunscreen on before falling asleep on the deck next time. We also did some bookwork that allowed us to all sit around and chat, but parents, we finished our work, we promise. Rudy and I gave each other funny tattoos with pen, but Rudy soon washed it off, and now I have an arrow that says “you are the one” on my forearm. Elise tried drawing in her book but it didn’t turn out as well as she hoped it was, a hard battle. Grace decided to take the better sleeping method and go in the shade.
We then discussed the book we worked on the past day or two (Underwater Naturalist). Right before the preview for the next dive, Madison dropped a fork into 40 feet of water. Everyone gave me the colorful sunscreen, and I became an artist, or so I thought. Marin and Grace wanted to have matching ones, so they each got one side of the heart. While we were learning about what to expect on the dive, the three Neptunes (Alex, Rudy, and I) were told we had to navigate the dive. A couple of the girls didn’t believe in us, not to spoil it, but we made it perfectly back to the boat. During the dive, we swam through a bunch of rock canyons. We then learned to drive the dinghy, and some of the boys were crazy; Robbie definitely had the time of his life. The best of all was when Robbie decided to hide in the sail during hide and seek. It was a jam-packed day, and there is so much to expect for tomorrow. We are all super excited to call you and we all miss you guys. Please ask us about Alex and Rudy’s sayings. P.S. While I was writing this, Will also got stung by a jellyfish, and he doesn’t regret jumping in. Cara loves putting peanut butter on every meal of the day.
