Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

What a day! Today we started off early at 5:50 am sharp! We had to get going pretty early to head to our first destination, Virgin Gorda. On the way, we stopped at Peter Island to have a quick lunch and cool off. At Peter Island, me and my wonderful shipmates jumped into the clear blue water from the side of the boat! So much fun! It took a long tie to get from West End to Virgin Gorda! Today I was the sipper. I got to control the boat, learn more terms, drive the boat, and control the VHF radio. Controlling the boat was amazing! My shipmates worked really hard and I am so proud of them. They make everything a breeze. The crew and I learned loads of terms today and I feel more educated and accomplished. Driving the boat was one of the many highlights of my day. My shipmates and leaders really helped in making my job a whole lot easier! When we arrived in Virgin Gorda we began our swim test. Our swim test was laps around the boat and treading water. After the long day, we showered and then put our scuba gear together! The crew and I got through that pretty quickly. Two of the shipmates made us a really amazing dinner, sloppy joes, mashed potatoes, corn, beans, and salad. It was great! Since I was skipper I had to choose the question of the day for the squeeze and I chose to ask people what their dreams were. I feel so much closer to my shipmates and it’s only day 1! I am so excited to see what the next couple of weeks brings to me and the crew. date: Jul 31, 2017
