Location: Ollantaytambo
Today, seven of us chose to take a six mile hike to the top of a mountain. Although very difficult, the experience was one for a lifetime. The hike up was hard. But it was worth it for the satisfaction of reaching the top. At the ridge, our guide led us to an Incan tomb filled with Incan people, who died at the site of a quarry near the top. We were reminded that this Incan trail has been used for centuries.
After we all viewed the tomb, our guide told us about the Incan legends of building stone towers. We built our own stone tower together and each picked a special stone to symbolize how we left our worries at the top of the mountain.
At the ridge and all the way down we admired the breathtaking views and took lots of photos. After the hike, we felt invigorated by our success.
