Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Today was our first full day on the boat. After we all woke up at 6:30, the chefs of the day served cereal for breakfast. All of the boats were still in the dock, and we all had a meeting to discuss safety and other things about our trip. At 10:30 we left the dock to set sail to a new island. With the help of our navigator, Charlotte, we successfully arrived after sailing for three hours, then stopped for lunch and a swim test, then sailed for another three hours. Everyone passed the swim test, which was six laps around the boat, then treading water for 10 minutes. The water is very blue and clear, so we can see the bottom when we are anchored at about 20 feet. After arriving at Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda, the open water divers went over how to set up and take apart equipment, while the advanced divers read through their diving books. Everyone took a salt water shower in the ocean, then rinsed off. For dinner we had sloppy Joe’s, corn, salad, and mashed potatoes. It was a great day, and we can’t wait for tomorrow.
