Location: White Bay, Peter Island
This morning we all woke up before our alarms, filled with excitement and curiosity about the adventures our day would bring. We enjoyed some cereal with melon and then went over some program safety precautions and rules. Afterward, we took our first sail to Peter Island. It was so peaceful, and the breeze brushed everyone’s hair back. We stopped for lunch and devoured some make-your-own sandwiches. The sun gave everyone a great tan to start off the trip!
After arriving at our location, we couldn’t wait to jump in the water. We took our swim tests (everyone passed)! Shortly after, we found ourselves reviewing how to set up dive equipment and then jumping in the water for our first dive of the trip! We dove to about 25ft (my dive computer showed 7m) and reviewed some scuba diving drills (regulator recovery, clearing a flooded mask, buoyancy control, and an out-of-air scenario). We even saw a sting ray!
After a refreshing and welcoming dive back-to-action quest, we put our equipment away and took some ocean showers. For dinner, we made some delicious Sloppy Joe’s. As the sun set, we took pictures and hung out on the roof of our catamaran. We are now getting ready for our first dive lecture! A great day overall 🙂
