Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Waking up at 615 was rough due to the lack of sleep the previous night from the girls gossiping (Alivia) and giggling (Kiran). Luckily, we woke up and headed to the baths, where we could cliff jump into the water. We had some insane campers doing all types of flips and dives (Teddy pulled off some alien-type dive into the water). Some even surpassed their fear of heights. Slowly approaching noon, we docked in Spanish Town. Everyone was stoked to finally be on land and go explore responsibly on their own. The best part about Spanish Town was the food. We all gained a few pounds. Calvin finally was able to get some coffee grounds so he’s not miserable in the morning.
At 2 pm, we were back on track to our next location. Once we arrived, we journaled and learned a bit about the reef we were about to explore. We then jumped straight in the water to snorkel, everyone’s breath holding was insane I don’t think Emma Y was aware she was holding her breath for as long as she did following the squids and large amount of species we came across. I would say everyone’s highlight so far from snorkeling was swimming under the cave into a large school of fish that tracked each of your moves. Maddie got a little spooked by a tarpon, thinking it was a shark. You should have seen the look on her face and her laugh of embarrassment. After the sweet snorkel sesh a group of us went to wake board ski and knee board it was dope. Yours truly shredded along with the squad, and I would say everyone was solid. Ruby popped up on the first try and was able to fix the kneeboard while going full speed to shred. Both Maddie and Kiran did a 360 on the first try, and Teddy mastered his pop-up on the wakeboard. As well as Emma getting close to the advanced slalom move on a ski. Finally, to end the night off, we went for our first night dive for the trip, and most people’s first-ever time doing so. I think we all had a great time seeing all the bioluminescence and different species at night. We are now preparing to eat cookies and go to bed. I will update you all tomorrow.
