Location: Leverick Bay
The insanely awesome day 7 began with Ayden waking up Nacho by singing to us; it was quite the performance. After having some yummy oatmeal prepared by Wylie and Alex, we began our day with the first rotation, the DMs doing some dive briefings while the Vegas went out to ski. Luckily the dive briefings with Mackenzie were awesome so we celebrated with a short snack break before starting our second rotation!! For the second rotation, the DMs got in the water to complete some surface skills, and the Vegas learned about coral reefs on another boat called Nomada! While improving our surface skills with Mackenzie, Jaden, Tyler, and Hayden found a wreck under the stern of Nachoooo! After finishing up the skills, we received some beautiful news…the DMs could go ZESTING!!!! We made it to the beach and met up with the Vegas, WOOHOO, and Alli told us she saw TWO eagle rays! The Nacho fam is back together for a bit. Avi and I hopped into one zest, Alex and Wylie in another, and Tyler and Jaden in the final zest. However, Avi and I got a little bit too cocky and may have capsized 1 minute into zesting and got a tiny bit close to Nacho while showing off to Ayden and Mackenzie, who were on board Nacho. I must admit, Tyler and Jaden did a superb job zesting. All of us zesters headed back to the beach to get dinghied back to Nacho for some delectable deli sandwiches for lunch.
As we munched, the DMs were blessed to hear that we could go take freshwater showers down in the heads! BLESS UP. Once we DMs were all clean and refreshed, we took Shaka to get another super dinghy before heading over to the rescue boat, Why Knot, in Leverick Bay. The Vegas stayed back on our lovely Nacho with Ayden to help him move Nacho to the Leverick Bay docks. I heard Juliette thinks she was really good at it (not sure if I buy it…jk Juliette is an esteemed sailor). While we DMs melted our faces off in boredom during the EFR review on the rescue boat, the Vegas headed onto shore for some shore time. The EFR training finished up with some crazy back blow demonstrations. We DMs then took Phoenix back to our gorgeous Nacho to then grab some goodies from the grocery store and Arawak. Because Ayden is so awesome and is letting us do it, we got s’mores supplies to make the most yummilicious scrumdidiliumptious smores on Nacho that have ever been conceived. Then, we talked to you guys!! YAY! We missed you guys (not really though; we’re having way more fun than you guys right now🤷♂️).
We then took Nacho out to anchor here and made our way down to the most insane BBQ rager of all time after our nightly squeeze. Tonight’s squeeze talked about our most meaningful memories on the trip so far, which was quite beautiful if I do say so myself. After five whole years of coming to AQ, I FINALLY got to get food first at the BBQ, stay blessed. I would like to note that Lilly was by far the most prepared shippie in the fleet by bringing her own personal packet of ranch. That fuel fired us all up to spread our fire to the dance floor, where we took over. In particular, Aggie and I were nominated for the Soulja Boy competition, where I walked off the stage with the coolest victory t-shirt ever seen. We continued to dance and eventually did limbo, where Tyler and Jaden borderline injured themselves, but luckily enough, we DMs are in tip-top physical shape after many swim tests. Once we had only a little fuel left in the tank, we began mingling with other boats before getting dinghied back to home sweet Nacho.
Love you, Mom/Dad and the rest of the fam 🙂
