Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we were up bright and early for a rotation day! We started the day off with some hearty oatmeal and fruit to power us before a long day. The divemasters were straight into their dive gear after breakfast to practice diving skills. We split up into two groups with Mackenzie and Jake, the assistant director. In the water, we practiced our 5-point descents and many other important divemaster skills. Lila had a perfect hover (5/5 points!).
Meanwhile, Lily and Alli flipped the zest sailboats a couple of times but did great and learned a lot. Aggie kneeboarded and Juliette wakeboarded, and they both did some crazy tricks. After this, we came back to the boat and had some delectable chicken sandwiches and leftover pasta ๐ yummy. We rehydrated, and Tyler, Avi, Hayden, and Jake went on some tank runs to refill our diving tanks and bring fresh ones.
Lila, Tyler, Avi, and I kitted up and swam over to Hope, our neighboring baby boat, to help them learn how to dive.
I was just interrupted to do a tank run with the rest of the divemasters.
The rest of the divemasters stayed here to take our vega crew out on their first dive of the trip and ever! All of the vega people had lots of fun and enjoyed their first dive!
After all of our diving, Aggie, Lily, Juliette, and Alli learned the essential sailing knots. The divemasters were forced on a 400-meter swim with Alex winning in 6:56 minutes. We were cooked after this๐
After showers, we all had yet another delectable meal of chili and rice! We squeezed and are now awaiting fresh brownies and praying for a night without rain. โ๏ธ
P.S. Hayden really misses you, Ava <3
