Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Today was one of the best days yet. It started on a good note when we got to sleep in after a tiring rotation day yesterday. I was woken up by rain hitting me in the middle of the night, but it felt refreshing. Anyways, I woke up around 7:30 and started making breakfast. Our guest for the day (Jake) and the crew of Wind Shadow worked together to make our best breakfast yet of French toast and fruit. After we cleaned up, we set sail for the island of Anegada. It was about an hour and a half trip there during which we got more sailing experience and experimented with the sails. The island of Anegada is very flat and very beautiful, with palm trees and white beaches. We had a nice picnic on the beach (sandwiches in the sand haha) and threw a frisbee around. After a little while, we came back to the boat and started the sail back. The return trip was the best part of the day for me. With the wind in our faces and music playing, it was such a relaxing time. We got into Vixen Point tonight and had a dinner of veggie burgers, mashed potatoes, and beans. The beautiful sunset capped off the day. Tomorrow is our first beach BBQ which I am very excited for. Hard to believe it’s been six days. In some ways, it seems like we just started, but it also seems like we’ve known each other forever. Can’t wait for these next two weeks.
