Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
We got up early today at six and ate breakfast of eggs, bacon, and muffins courtesy of one of our shipmates who wakes up early to cook. The dolphin and rescue students split up today for separate activities. On the dolphin side, we went for a dive to learn navigation skills underwater. Afterward, we went back on a different boat, “the Surprise,” to learn about oceanography before taking a dingy to the beach. There we set out for a walk from the leeward side of the island Virgin Gorda to the windward side. We hiked through a trail a bit to a salt lake, and then we saw the other side. After that, we could go in the water at the beach and relax! The water was warm, clear, and blue. We closed the day with chili for dinner, and we can’t wait to go to the Baths and Spanish Town tomorrow.
