Location: West End, Tortola
With the rescue, the course finished, and our last night on the water behind us, we’re docked in West End for the final nightly squeeze. Everybody on board will be missed tomorrow, so we’re spending as much time with each other as possible. Nicole, Gabi, Alexa, and Natalie all came together as good friends, but they’ll leave with nine more. Jack, Kade, Jeff, Chris, Morgan, and Hudson are all going to miss trying to sneak in an extra ten minutes of sleep in the port forward cabin, but will always remember the time they spent with each other on Catalinaville. Hannah came to our boat not knowing anyone, but left her mark by making a huge impact on each and every shipmate and staff member she came in contact with. I can’t even begin to tell you what a joy it was to have such a diverse and interesting group of students on board for only three weeks. If it were up to Emelia, Adam, and myself, we would keep this crew for the entire summer. Even though we’re sad to see everyone go, we’re glad that they’re all leaving with no regrets. They lived every day to the fullest and never sat still for a second. Hopefully, we’ll see all of them next year, but if not, we’re excited to see what they will accomplish in the next few years.
