Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today was amazing. We started off by waking up at 6:45. Riley and Ana made us a wonderful breakfast of cereal and cut cantaloupe. The breakfast was an amazing way to start the day. After, we had an orientation at the top of Pusser’s. The orientation was informative and humorous at points. Later, we had shore time, which included shopping. Once around 20 minutes passed, we got on to our boat (the best boat). Amused. We then left the dock and started sailing; Zoe, Alta, and I got to drive the boat. Everyone got a job and learned a lot during sailing, such as mooring and putting up the sails. Shane and Lilly tied the boat to the mooring ball while Asa and Myles pointed to the ball while yelling how far they thought the mooring ball was. Sophie, Zoe, Lilly, Asa, and Shane all pulled ropes to put the sail up.
After we arrived at our destination- Norman Island- we had sandwiches. At the destination, we took a swim test. The swim test consisted of swimming four laps around the boat and treading water for 10 minutes. As soon as that was completed, we got ready to snorkel in some caves. There were lots of pictures taken by Zoe, Shane, Ana, and Lilly. These pictures consisted of numerous types of fish, an eel, coral, a beautiful clearing with rocks, and a school of fish. On the boat, after snorkeling, most of us went jumping off the dinghy. This was very fun, and people were trying front flips, back flips, gainers, front pikes, and more. We showered in the ocean. After showering and getting changed, all of us got changed and saw a turtle. While Riley and Ana were making corn, mashed potatoes, salad, and sloppy Joe’s, Carlo, Alta, Asa, Myles, and Julian sat around a table while talking and listening to music. When dinner was ready, we all ate a delicious meal while playing telephone. As soon as we all finished eating, we did a squeeze. We said our daily appreciation and asked if we ever broke a bone. Everyone answered the questions, and after we finished, we all squeezed each other’s hands and barked like a dog. That was a great way to end the day.
