Today was the big hike! We woke up earlier than usual to get a jump on “the longest day” of our journey. After breakfast, we were on the dock, and by 7:30, our hike began. We hiked mostly uphill on very steep roads for most of the journey up. However, once we reached the top, the view was worth the effort. The descent of the mountain was much easier than that of the climb, but it was still a long way down. Once at the bottom, we were free to get a bite to eat or run to the market to stock up on boat supplies. When 1:30 rolled around, we were back on the boat and on our way to the next activity. We took a short trip to a small island with a wonderful beach with white sand and clear water. This was the setting four our sandcastle contest, which we definitely nailed. We decided to create a turtle with a baby turtle on its shell. We all put in an effort to make this the best turtle we ever saw, and I think it was. Later on, we were back on our boats again and off to our next destination, which was our beach BBQ. We are all ready to have fun and eat great food. These parties are always fun and great ways to meet people from other boats, which is always great. The crew and I are very excited and can’t wait.
