Location: Marina Cay

I can’t believe we’re already halfway through! Even though a couple of our shipmates already knew each other from last year, Bryant, Alisa and I are amazed at how close everyone has become. When Eva explained in our squeeze last night that she has considered Spindrift her home for the last week, we were pumped when everyone else agreed. Yesterday during the hardest Rescue exercise of the trip, Michael, or as we call him ‘Pando,’ led the group with perfect technique and a strong desire to succeed. Fluffy, Ryan and Griffin are a force of a buddy group on our divers, and the rescue program would not be as successful as it is without them. Julie has amazed everyone with her extreme knowledge of the ocean. Jade, Julie’s partner in crime, is always keeping the group’s spirits up with her positive attitude and helpful nature. Ian has been entertaining the boat with his ukulele. Grace and Emily act as the dynamic duo of the boat, helping out with every cleanup, and acting as true leaders. Calleb has been wowing us with his dance moves and teaching every other student how to safely set up a hammock. Finally, Bryce and Connor are killing it in the Rescue program, acting as role models for the rest of the group.

It has been a great trip so far, and I’m sure the rest of the trip will be great as well.
