Location: Anegada

Today we had an early morning and set sail to Anegada. It was a two-hour sail, and we were there by 7:00. Amanda made us all delicious french toast, which was followed by energetic music. The dishies quickly got to work on their job after breakfast because we had to prepare for BOATLYMPICS! I made a flag out of a towel that said “Club Mere Cat.” Harley gave Ash a haircut, which inspired Dan to also get a haircut … only he wanted “MC” shaved on the side of his head to represent Mere Cat. Soon it was time to head to the beach and assert our dominance by forming a massive body pyramid on the first try. Aidan and I were very excited and started chanting. Soon, the whole boat followed.

We sang songs and shouted, waiting to hear what the first event would be. This challenge included digging under a paddle, fitting under it, swimming to a staff member in the water, and finally high-fiving the next person to go. We came in a close second thanks to Kaleigh’s amazing swimming skills. The next event involved a chicklet (a dingy life preserve) and having everyone make it across. We started off a little rough, with Aidan carrying Kayleigh in his arms and me on his back. He took off sprinting, but soon we all took a tumble; I loved the effort. We did not do the best in this event but had high hopes for the next one; crawling through every team member’s legs, spinning around a fender ten times, sprinting to get as much water as possible while being tackled by staff, to simply fill up a whole pringle container. Sean was taken down by several team members but did not go down without a fight. We also did not perform highly in this contest. In between events, Aidan wrestled with a staff member and demolished him. It was then time for lunch, a quick sandwich break on the beach. After this, we had a game of tug of war. Despite being the oldest boat, we were definitely not the strongest and lost. We went back to the boat to shower and prepare for our long sail back. During the sail, it started to storm, which caused it to be a bit rocky. We enjoyed a food war with the staff, which involved violently throwing carrots at each other, with the occasional hit from the water gun. Amanda made a delicious Mexican dinner with a little help from her soups chef, Ava.
