Day 6

Day six, the boat-lympics, was one of the most energetic days so far! The day started early, with beginning to sail at sunrise with most of the boat still asleep in the salon. When breakfast time came around, we all had French toast made by Shane and Julian. After we played a game of Thunder Struck(we listened to a song, and every time the song said “thunder,” you would start chugging water), Sophie got stuck with an especially long stretch. Then we were off to the beach to begin the Boat Olympics. The Olympics consisted of x events, digging/running/swimming relays, fender rodeo, slippery dingy climbing, and filling the Pringles can(also a relay). The Fender rodeo was played by Lilly, Carlo, and Asa and was amazingly won by Carlo. The slippery dingy climbing was played by Zoë, Myles, and Ana. Team Amused won the dingy competition as a team. Halfway through the boat Olympics, we had a lunch of Pb and J and deli sandwiches, brought to the beach by our skipper Kackie. As we won the last game, we tallied up the points, and… Amused won the boat Olympics!! The Olympics were finally done, and everyone got to relax and swim in the ocean and was eventually shuttled back to their boats. With everyone on their respective boats, we set sail. The waters had high waves, and everybody on the trampoline(front of the boat) got completely soaked! In the salon, everyone was tired from the hot day on the beach, and a few of us, Alta, Ana, and Asa, fell asleep. At the new destination, a dinner of veggie burgers, mashed potatoes, and baked beans was cooked and served by our chefs. After dinner, the deck was cleaned by the deckies Carlo and Riley. When all of the chores were done, Maya, Zoë, Julian, Shane, and Ana made a birthday sign for our staff member Davis for tomorrow!
