Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Today started with a nice breakfast of French toast cooked by Maren and Houston. Although we were a little behind schedule for our rotations it was worth it. After breakfast, the open waters started their lesson while the advanced divers went off to do their navigation dive. During the dive, a 3 foot long barracuda swam right by us which was very cool. Everyone killed it on the nav dive and found their way back with no issues whatsoever. The open water group also killed the RDP lesson and are now pros. Once the two groups reunited back on Frenchie, we started a light lesson on knots. The lesson on knots quickly turned into friendship bracelets making time and a Turks head lesson. Sadie is now the pro of Turks heads on our boat and is the designated person to make them for us all. After our knot/bracelet lesson, it was time for water sports. Most of us were exhausted and just wanted to stay on the boat and chill. But Claire and I decided that we’ll go. I was only in for the ride, whereas Claire was ready to shred on the kneeboard (she did). As we were heading back in we could see a big rain cloud in the distance. Minutes later, it started pouring rain. Our boat took this as a way to get a rain dance party in. Claire, Aiden, Sariah, Noah, Julia, Megan, Garrison, and I partied up on the hardtop to a multitude of amazing songs while absolutely getting drenched in the rain. The dance party made us all very hungry, but luckily, it was lunchtime. We had a very complicated and intricate lunch of PB & J’s. Garrison had the idea to do two truths and a lie during lunch. Some people were really good at this game and some people didn’t really understand the “lie” part of it.

But nonetheless, it was fun to learn a little more about each other, even though some of the facts were very interesting. Once we finished lunch it was time to go to the beach and start our zesting rotation. Unfortunately, after the rain storm the air was colder than normal and there was a slight lack of wind. Due to this most of us eventually stayed on the beach. Sadie, Nadiya, Claire, Julia, Noah, and Houston all went out zesting. Claire and Julia came back in shortly after and joined Maren, Aiden, Ella, B, Sariah, and me in sitting and talking on the beach. Once we got back we started ocean showers. We all love ocean showers so we were very excited. After ocean showers, we started the process of hibi showers.

Once everyone was done with their two showers we started the motor over to Leverick Bay where the BBQ would be. We were also told that there is a grocery store. We were pumped about this. We love our snacks, so we all decided to make a quick trip to the store. We were all hyper aware of the quick part because the sooner we got back to the boat the sooner we got our phones. Everyone got their essentials at the store. Aiden got his Nutella and Claire got her sour skittles. Overall, it was a very productive trip. We were all very excited and anxious to get our phones. It was nice to talk to all of our family and friends for the first time in a week.

Giving our phones back was a very hard task. We all powered through, sort of. Since we were all dressed up for BBQ we took lot of pictures including one that was against the wind. All the girl’s hair was all over the place, and we had to take several breaks to get it under control. After picture time, we headed to the BBQ. The BBQ was a very fun time. Claire killed it on the dance floor (no surprise), and Maren was focused on trying to find someone who lived near her (she was unsuccessful). We all were pretty tired but none of us were more tired than B. B was the smart one and decided to take a nap to get through the night. Once the BBQ was over, we headed to the dock, where there was a long wait to get a dinghy ride back to the boat. During this wait our group had some tactic to try and get a ride. We first tried begging, and then Megan tried to use her flashlight, and once that didn’t work, we resorted to the pirate method and tried to just jump onto a dinghy and steal it from another boat. Unfortunately, none of these worked, and we were one of the last boats to be picked up. Everyone was so tired from the day and immediately got ready for bed. Some of us talked in the salon for a little bit, while others just immediately fell asleep. It was a long but very good day.
