Location: Cuzco to Urubamba

Last night we had an amazing surprise pizza party along with salsa lessons. It was a great bonding experience and a highlight of the week.
The next morning we loaded the bus to travel to our next destination, and along the way, we had interesting and engaging activities. First, we stopped at Ccochahuasi Animal Sanctuary, where we saw spectacular native species, including Andean Condors, llamas, spider monkeys and vicuas. These animals were rescued from dangerous conditions to preserve these endangered Peruvian species.
Next we hiked to the top of the Incan ruins of Pizaq to take in the breathtaking view. It was fascinating learning about terrace farming and the Incan religion from our native guide.
To wrap up our day, we went mountain biking through the dirt roads of Pizaq. Even our trip leader, who was not confident in her bike riding abilities, had a great time on her ride. Arriving at the hotel for the night, we were exhausted from the day’s adventures, but we had fun during all of them!
