Today was a very full and action-packed day! It was a very early start with our staff getting up at 4.30am for a sunrise sail to Anegada through some fairly rough seas for three hours. The rocking of the boat and swinging of my hammock was a bit too much for my stomach, which made the sail seem like a long one, but once we arrived and I was able to get in the water I felt much better. We then explored a beach on Anegada, cracked open some coconuts, and generally just relaxed on one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We then set off towards our dive site and made some friends on the way in the form of a pod of dolphins that put on a show just off our bow! They didn’t stick around long but made quite an impression, bringing Bella to tears! We then arrive at our first wreck dive, which was rather intimidating seeing as it was our deepest dive yet and the surface conditions were a bit rough. But once we got in the water, there was almost no current and the visibility was great! The wreck was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. The twisted and warped metal overtaken by coral is like nothing I’ve ever seen before! We saw sting rays, a huge eel, and more species of fish than I can count! It was definitely my favorite dive so far! We then closed off the day with a beautiful sail back to our anchorage for the night. I’m looking forward to tomorrow!
