Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
We started the day with a lovely breakfast of eggs and muffins prepared by Sadie and Townes. Then we joined the Gobeyond group (nicknamed HagenDaaz) for a super fun hike, and Stella killed it! This was very fun and a bunch of photos were taken there by myself. Will accidentally brought two right flip-flops but enjoyed the hike nonetheless. The next thing we did was go to a cave where Aidan and Zoe took us on a snorkeling adventure, where we saw many different fish species. The first thing some of us saw was an eagle ray, which is a super cool way to start out the trip! We came back to the boat to swim some more before eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to fuel us for our big sail ahead. Then we sailed for four whole hours to Savannah Bay while both Henry and George sailed. At some points, we hit 8 knots of speed with just our sails and no engine. On those sail rides, a bunch of people took a nap, specifically Maddie, Bodi, Sloane, Sadie, and Natalia, and I took a nap even though Pirates of the Caribbean and Moana music was blasting. When we reached Savannah Bay, we spent some more time jumping off the boat and doing flips. Juliet did a flip and 360 into the water at the same time! Townes and Maddie prepared us a really good dinner, and Philippe helped even though it wasn’t his job. He just wanted to cook. We did a sail chat where we went over some of the things we learned sailing today, such as points of sail and sail trim, and we are now going to watch Surfs Up!
