Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola

Today we woke up to the Circle of Life from The Lion King and started our day off well, except for me, because I found gum in my hair after sleeping on the bench outside. To deal with that, I went to Anya, who helped me get it out with peanut butter which surprisingly worked. On top of that, we found out that one of the other boats on Sail Side A had pranked us by putting all of our PFDs on the mast of our catamaran, which we all laughed about. Gary made us an amazing bacon and egg breakfast to give us energy for the day. After breakfast, Scarlett, Micah, and I were in a group for the deep dive which is a dive we had to complete for our advanced scuba certification. We went down to 80 feet, which is 20 feet deeper than we used to be certified to dive to. On our way down, the watercolor began to change from a light blue near the top and dark green as we got closer to the bottom. At the bottom, all the group’s dive instructors cracked an egg so that we could see how it behaved at different pressure levels—because we were so deep, the pressure kept the eggs yolk together even after being cracked. Once we finished our deep dive, our boat made our way over to Avizia and wished Max (Avizias skipper) a happy birthday before he gave us a ship systems chat that explained what different parts of our catamarans do. After we finished up on Avizia, we made our way over to Beso (another boat on our sail side) to paddle board, swim and just hang out by the water. Louella saw a tarpon swimming near her while she was on the paddle board. Evan and I took a nap for the majority of the rotation in the frock pit while Scarlett read her book. Most of the other people on our boat paddle-boarded and swam around.

Once we were done with our rotation on Beso, Annika and Sylvia took our boat water skiing and wakeboarding on the super dinghies. Blake and Diego caught a bunch of air while wakeboarding with Sylvia. Luke and Cobrin had an amazing rotation of water skiing, with Annika whipping the dingy, with Luke shredding in the back while Cobrin got up on his first time ever water skiing and managed to stay up for quite a long time going in and out of the wake. After we finished up with water sports, we showered and made our way to the beach BBQ, where we all had a good time. Violet got to see her friend Ana from last year’s session, and Brendan got to catch up with his brother Garrett. Once the BBQ ended, we came back to Nomada to find that we had been pranked again! It turns out then Max came by to drop off our table.
