British Virgin Islands - 2026, Session 3

Welcome to the BVI’s

Location: West End, Tortola

Today featured a busy morning preparing and stocking the boat in preparation for everyone's arrival later. All three of us have been frantically packing every spare bit of space with food and snacks to keep us fed and happy over the next 17 days.

Right now, all three of us are finishing up the last bit of cleaning and scrubbing to get everything ready for everyone to arrive. We're all so excited to meet everyone and to get going on our awesome voyage.

On the subject of us, here's a little intro to the team that will be helping to run Harbor House Out!:
First up is our skipper and medic, Tom. He was born and raised in London. Tom studied at Imperial College and Southampton University and brings a background in engineering and problem-solving to every boat he leads. Having spent some time working as an engineer, he returns to the sea to help inspire others to love it as he does. Outside of ActionQuest, he works as a freelance engineer and sailing instructor, combining creativity with practical experience. Tom brings professionalism, flexibility, and a calm teaching style to every boat. With a strong background in both seamanship and mentorship, he's excited to help students build skills, grow as a team, and experience the adventure of life at sea.

Next up is our Dive Instructor Bailey, a Rhode Island native and lifelong sailor. Bailey began her scuba journey as a young camper at ActionQuest. After university, she moved to NYC, where she eventually traded her desk for a backpack to explore and work remotely abroad. While traveling, she earned her Divemaster and Instructor certifications, discovering a true passion for teaching along the way. Whether she's underwater or on deck, Bailey loves exploring new places and making new friends!

Last but by no means least is our Mate and Divemaster Jimmy. Jimmy is from Los Altos, California, in the San Francisco Bay area, where he spent a lot of time in and around the ocean, which gave him a love for surfing, swimming, and any other activity in the water. Jimmy currently attends the University of Oregon, where he studies geography and is a member of the club water polo team. In the fall of 2022, he joined a Seamester Transatlantic program aboard S/Y Vela, where he found a passion for scuba diving. He does most of his diving in Washington and Oregon, where he likes to catch Dungeness crab with his friends. In his free time, you can find him surfing, biking, reading, cooking, and getting outside as much as possible. Jimmy is hyped to join the AQ team this summer!
