Big Fih
Hello, this is Jerry, Ophelia, and Stella. Jerry is technically the skipper today, but he has asked us (Stella and Ophi) to write today’s blog. We had the 8-12 this morning, where Ophi and Stella were chefs. They were supposed to make pesto pasta, but it turned out there was no pesto, so they made Alfredo instead. During lunch, the fishing line went berserk, and we caught a faaaaaaat tuna. Ellie ate the eyes, and Noah and Christian ate a chunk of raw fish like a watermelon. Thank you to Noah, Forbes, Christian, and Mac for reeling the fish in so nicely.

Following lunch, we had our final leadership class, where Emma gave a sentimental spiel about the importance of enjoying every moment in life and being open to new things. We are all really grateful that she’s been such an inspiration to us all, inside and outside the classroom. Ellery, Stella, and Alex worked on their cards. Everyone also took and graded their VHF exams. Thank you to Chris as well for teaching us. After that, Stella, Ophi, Jerry, Alex, and Max worked together to cook dinner: pancakes. Stella’s pan accidentally caught on fire, and it went like a foot into the air. It was a pretty stressful environment, especially because Mac was simultaneously cooking tuna, and it was REALLY hot. In the end, though, they got dinner up. Noah ended up combining spaghetti with Nutella, peanut butter, and syrup, which was a little weird, but it’s okay. Jerry’s skipper question was “What is your favorite ancient empire?” He said the Mongols, which wasn't surprising because he likes to do Mongolian throat singing. After dinner, Jerry, Stella, and Ophi toiled away cleaning up the galley. All in all, it was a nice day, and everyone had a great time.
