After miles of spreadsheets, a mild Gatorade addiction, and provisioning (the kind that should be considered a sport), oryx has never been more ready for students to come on board! Lines are tied, bilges are full, and fenders are ready - welcome aboard!

While sunscreen and Nutella may go quick, these three weeks are about more than certifications, miles on the water, or number of dives. Hope’s crew will be sharing sunrises and sunsets, crying from laughing so hard, and working together to reach common goals. What starts as strangers having a very awkward Tortellini dinner turns into lifelong friends, top-rated memories, and countless life skills learned.
Meet oryx’s staff!

Max - Skipper
Max learned to sail in the Solent and also gained experience crossing the English Channel to France. After learning to sail, Max took part in professional yacht deliveries, sailing along the European coastline from England down to Gran Canaria. He has also spent time sailing in the Mediterranean, both as a flotilla skipper and on delivery trips, his previous job to coming to action quest was a traditional schooner skipper. Max first dived in Mexico several years ago and more recently in Bequia.

Anzie - Dive Instructor
Despite growing up in the landlocked state of Indiana, Anzie has always enjoyed spending time in the water. Anzie joined AQ in 2019 as a Vega student and instantly fell in love with diving. Returning for more AQ programs throughout the years, Anzie has worked her way through the PADI rankings while making epic memories. When not in the BVI, Anzie studies Marine Biology & Ecology at the University of Miami, and in her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, line dancing, traveling, and sharing a good laugh with her friends. She can’t wait to return to the BVI this summer, this time as staff, and to help facilitate the same amazing experiences she had as a student with her shipmates!

Amanda grew up in Rye Brook, New York, right outside the city. She fell in love with the ocean from a young age while snorkeling on family trips to St. John, USVI, where she eventually got scuba certified with her whole family. Since the beginning, Amanda developed a passion for being underwater and knew it was something she wanted to pursue. She spent many incredible summers since 2016 as a student with AQ and earned her Open Water Scuba Instructor certification in 2022. She learned a lot through her summers with AQ and is beyond excited to share this knowledge with students of her own! Amanda is pursuing a Psychology degree outside of AQ at the University of Miami. She loves Miami but is beyond excited to return to the BVI’s for another life-changing summer with ActionQuest! During college, she completed a study abroad program through Seamester, living aboard S/Y Argo, and sailing from Indonesia to South Africa. Her main goal is to keep the stoke levels high and create a life-activating experience for her students!
