British Virgin Islands - 2025, Session 3

Welcome to Second Wind!

Location: West End, Tortola

Hello from Second Wind! We are so excited to meet everyone and can’t wait to start our Neptune and Rescue programs. To start off an amazing 17 days, here is a little about the staff team:

Gene- Dive Instructor
Gene loves the ocean so much that he can often be seen gazing longingly at it on the horizon. He grew up in New Zealand and travels the world for adventure. Gene teaches scuba diving to anyone within earshot and considers himself a liaison between humans and sea life. He’s a strong advocate for shark conservation and will strike up a conversation about conservation with just about anyone. He can’t wait to return to the Caribbean this summer and live out his lifelong dream of being a pirate.

Rachel - Dive Instructor
Rachel is from Charlotte, NC, and has loved the ocean since her first open water dive at age 16. In 2022, she joined a Seamester Transatlantic program on S/Y Vela, where she became a Divemaster. Inspired by her staff and previous dive instructors, Rachel went to Bay Islands College of Diving in Utila, Honduras, to earn her PADI Scuba Instructor certification. The only other thing Rachel loves as much as the sea is theatre. She graduated from NYU and now calls New York City home as a freelance stage manager. She has worked on three Broadway productions, and when not backstage or underwater, she enjoys reading, writing, drawing, and exploring. Rachel is thrilled to be back at AQ this summer!

Player- Dive Instructor
Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Player is a passionate water enthusiast and dedicated diver. He is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina and has spent his entire life around the water, from surfing to scuba diving. His diving journey began in 2022 when he attended ActionQuest after getting his Open Water Diver certification, eager to get his Advanced Open Water. Driven by a love for exploration and the ocean, Player continued his training, achieving Rescue in 2023 and Divemaster in 2024. In 2025, he reached a significant milestone by becoming a certified Dive Instructor, eager to share his passion with others.

London - Skipper
London grew up in the Florida panhandle, surrounded by rivers, lakes, and the ocean. She spent many summers in the Keys or the Gulf, where she fell in love with the undersea world. After high school, she was lucky to join Seamester on S/V Argo, sailing from the BVI to Tahiti. This experience kick-started her passion for sailing and gave her the confidence to turn this love into a career. She has been able to sail on vessels from around the Keys to the shores of Oahu, from Alaska to Colombia. She has always loved sharing her knowledge and experience with others and continuing to learn more herself.
