Session 3 Begins Today!
Location: West End, Tortola
Woohoo, students arrive today! We have been eagerly preparing for their arrival. After completing two sessions and a quick 2-day turnaround, we are excited to return to the water with our new batch of students on our faithful vessel, the Nacho Dinghy. Being the Barracuda/Vega combination boat, we are thrilled to spend lots of time underwater and with our sails raised high.
Ayden- Skipper
Ayden has moved many times in his life and has enjoyed exploring all the different environments and cultures. He first sailed on S/Y Vela in the fall of 2023 and fell in love instantly. Visiting the ocean often for vacations sparked his passion for the sea and its wildlife. Diving, sailing, fishing, and anything outdoors give him the most joy. He studies environmental science at Appalachian State University and continues his education by collecting sailing and diving certifications whenever possible. He is most excited about being out in the sun with a breeze and the rolling waves this summer.
Mackenzie- Dive Director
Mackenzie fell in love with scuba diving in Phuket, Thailand, and that short trip became three years spent traveling and diving around Southeast Asia. After graduating from Penn State University, she earned her instructor certification in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia, where she taught for a year and dove with turtles daily! When she’s not teaching at ActionQuest, she works full-time for Global Expeditions Group as an enrollment advisor and prepares for the summer.
Anzie- Dive Instructor
Despite growing up in the landlocked state of Indiana, Anzie has always enjoyed spending time in the water. Anzie joined AQ in 2019 as a Vega student and instantly fell in love with diving. Returning for more AQ programs throughout the years, Anzie has worked her way through the PADI rankings while making epic memories. When not in the BVI, Anzie studies Marine Biology & Ecology at the University of Miami, and in her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, line dancing, traveling, and sharing a good laugh with her friends. She can’t wait to return to the BVI this summer, this time as staff, and to help facilitate the same amazing experiences she had as a student with her shipmates!
