Second Wind

Today was day 18, and we began our morning with a difficult decision to make. Lukewarm cereal or … cinnamon and spice oatmeal, A.K.A. the one everyone avoids (except Bodin). As the responsible minors, we have come to be on board a second wind, we cleaned the vessel in a jiffy. Immediately following, we hoisted the sail (we use the motor) to begin our trek to an undisclosed location #mysterious. Although I am unsure of the title of this place, it was very beautiful #clearwaters. Shortly after we arrived, we set up our dive gear and plunged into the dinghy for our first dive of the day! It was a wreck dive where we had to individually prove we could tie bowline knots 80ft below the surface in order to receive our wreck diver specialty. Without struggle, the tribe succeeded, and we are all wreck divers now, except for Mateo and Emily due to their aging status.

Instead of diving, Mateo and Emily spent bonding time on the vessel, then went for a separate dive. The rest of the group then finished the dive, where we saw an abnormally large stingray (approx. 5 feet in width) and many other intriguing fish #snapper. The visibility was perfect, and it was safe to say it was my favorite dive yet. Anyways, after the dive, we went in the water, listened to some tunes, and had a blast. Then it was lunch time, which was mac & cheese, prepared perfectly by our chefs, Dylan and Emily. Soon after, the cleanup crew began their jobs, and the boat was beautiful again. Then, we continued enjoying ourselves in the water before being summoned to the bow to set up our dive gear for our second wreck dive of the day. This was a penetration dive, which means we were able to swim through the wreck. I made sure to bring my GoPro on this dive, knowing how pretty the dive site was. It turned out that the decision was worth it, as I captured some cool footage of a stingray and other fish. Our maximum depth was 87ft underwater, and our dive time was 30 minutes.

After the dive concluded, we met back at HQ (the boat) for some showers and free time. Once we were cleaned, we set sail back to GHP. During the voyage, Daisy, Juliet, and I played BS with each other, which led to an easy victory for Kid #1. The chefs began cooking up some Mexican food, which turned out quite exquisitely. We then cleaned up the boat quickly once again, and are currently awaiting the arrival of a Minerva boat, where we will be able to see friends we have not seen since the start of the session.
