Welcome To Avizia
Location: West End, Tortola
The day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived! Summer is here. We are so excited about the two (ish) -week-long adventure that is about to begin. The entire ActionQuest staff has worked tirelessly to prepare the fleet for the upcoming session.
Our home for the next few weeks, the good ship Avizia, has been stuffed to the gills with food, water, and fuel in preparation for our student's arrival. We're keen to start teaching open water/advanced sailing to our ten shipmates. We cannot express how stoked we are to sail away on our next adventure with a whole new group of incredible students!
Dive Instructor/ mate - India
India has been fortunate enough to explore the underwater world from a young age. After finishing University in the UK, she gained her PADI Instructor certification in Bali. Beyond being an instructor, India loves to travel, plan new adventures, and enjoy relaxing on the beach.
Grace- Dive Instructor/Mate
Grace began attending Action Quest in July of 2021 after she initially completed her Open Water certification in her home state of New York. In 2023, Grace completed the Divemaster program at Action Quest and decided to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor later that summer. She is currently a student at the University of Vermont, where she teaches dive classes in her free time. When she's not in the water, you can find her on the slopes or at the rock climbing gym with her friends. Grace is excited to return to the BVI this summer and cannot wait to share her passion for the ocean with her students.
Skipper Mike.
Mike is from the sailing city of Newport, RI. With a love for the water, he grew up sailing optics and 420s, which eventually led him to become connected with the sailing community. He attended the University of Rhode Island and, after graduating with a degree in Marine Affairs, realized he wanted to work on the ocean and started his career on Superyachts. He became a second engineer and is looking to expand into captaining. Mike achieved his Sail and Power Yachtmaster back in March and May. After ActionQuest, Mike is working to achieve his MBA in Sustainable Innovation at the University of Vermont. He looks forward to sharing his passion and knowledge with his crew this year!
Skipper - Nate
Nat has been an avid sailor and marine enthusiast since her first sailing trip to the British Virgin Islands at age 3. Since then, the call of the ocean has been inescapable! This love for the sea has held firm despite spending most of her formative years sailing the frigid waters of the San Francisco Bay and later the nonexistent seas of Park City, Utah. A healthy sense of wanderlust has led her to live in the Andalusia region of Spain, Namibia's deserts, and Belize's jungles, and then travel across the Atlantic on the Cape Town to Antigua Seamester voyage in 2023. Nat has her IYT Master of Yachts Limited Sail 200-ton Offshore license and PADI Divemaster certification. She attends college in Claremont, California. Any remaining spare time is spent shredding Utah and SoCal's slopes, painting watercolors, and planning future adventures. Nat is excited to join the ActionQuest Team and share her passion for sailing and sense of humor with her students!
