Taking It All In
Location: The Bight, Norman Island
We had the pleasure of sleeping in today—nothing on the schedule except sailing and land time. In our time of absolutely nothing to do, Mac held a dive competition. Phoebe showed us one hell of a dive, quite literally belly-flopping. No one won because there was no judge, but Annelise and Alex both tied for first place in the most horizontal dive contest with a 10/10 flop. After the flop tourney, we sailed to Road Town for land time with other boats and lunch. Teddy and I found a grocery store and met some kids from Shape Up while acquiring our goods. We headed back to the restaurant and met up with our boat. We all hung out on the dock with Shape Up until Sydney, and Mac got us on the super dinghies and took us back to our respective boats. After helming in the morning, I handed the wheel to Elsa, and she drove us to "The Bight," which is a cove seven nautical miles south of Road Town. Zac, Teddy, and I had a dance party and took naps on the way over to The Bight. Ava and Alex cheffed it up downstairs. They made frank and beans tonight for dinner, which was very good. The question of the day that yours truly came up with was, "what is everyone's favorite Mac Memory?" I said mine was when Mac started to breaststroke away from the stern of the boat very quickly. It's unexplainable how freaking funny it was. Now I'm writing this as Teddy is being bandaged up from dropping a plate on his foot while drying the dishes. Lindsay is working on her bracelet, Peter, Zac, and Maggie are sharing hobnobs, and the deckies are washing the cockpit of dinner scraps. We are all talking about how quickly this trip has gone by. I keep reminding everyone to stay in the present because before we know it, we will all be on our way home, wishing we were still on the boat. I'm contradicting myself writing this, but it's true. I'm not gonna have any other time to say this because it's my last skipper day, but this has been the best time of my life. I can't thank everyone enough for what this trip has been. I love Mac, Missy, and Gigi. Best. Counselors. I. Have. Ever. Had.
Everyone on the boat is amazing, and I am coming back next year. I have already made up my mind. Anyways we are now playing cards and writing cards to each other. On the other hand, we are all mentally preparing for race day tomorrow. Wombat will take heads, and the W.
