Shape Up

Our second to last day on shape-up :(. We arose to a beautiful ocean and rocky landscape view in Great Harbor Peter. We filled our stomachs with a delicious and nutritious meal consisting of buttermilk Pancakes and melon, 10/10. After clean-up, Adlai, Nathan, and I unhitched our Bowline knots from the mooring ball. Skipper Sasha then motored our tubby boat to Roadtown, the capital of Tortola. Upon arrival, Lauryn, Jo, and Aline absolutely smashed the docking process, tying our fenders and throwing our lines to the dock with pinpoint accuracy. After a short dinghy ride, we arrived at the hustle and bustle of the city, a nice change of pace from the small villages we had visited before. We met up with our fellow AQ campers on the boat, Mere Cat. They are a hoot for sure. Torfinn, Alaska, and Grace walked to a local ice cream shop where they enjoyed some “bussin” ice cream. Victoria and I walked to the grocery store, where we bought the entire stock of mangoes and proceeded to devour them. We then hopped back aboard Shape Up and had a lovely hour and a half sail to Norman Island harbor. Our stomachs are now filled with rice, beans, and hotdogs while we are getting prepared to write letters to each other. We are family at this point. I’m going to miss the sails, dives, and company of everyone here.
