Meet the Crew:

Kackie - Skipper
Kackie first joined the AQ team as a skipper in 2021 and is thrilled to come back for her second summer. After graduating high school in 2018, Kackie spent a year pursuing her RYA Yachtmaster 200t certification in Sydney, Australia. After earning her certification, Kackie spent four months in South Africa, surfing and backpacking through coastal villages and staying at local hostels before starting her degree in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech. Despite currently living in Atlanta, there is nothing Kackie likes more than being on the water and sharing her love for sailing with others. Her favorite part of the ActionQuest experience is Race Day, where all the boats in the fleet engage in a big sailing race against each other. Kackie loves watching her students get super excited to apply the sailing skills they have learned to win the race.

James - Mate and Head EMT
James was born and raised in northern California, never living very far from an ocean. James is very excited to be reuniting with GXG in the British Virgin Islands for a summer full of sailing, diving, watersports, and overall fun! James developed a love for all water sports through his time in California, including sailing, surfing, swimming, water polo, rafting, wakeboarding, and diving. He found his true passion for sailing after a voyage onboard S/Y Argo from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean as a student with Seamester in the fall of 2018. During the school year, James is a student at Baylor University working towards his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In addition, James is also an EMT with about a year of experience in ambulances.

Mackenzie - Dive Instructor
Mackenzie fell in love with scuba diving in Phuket, Thailand, and that short trip became three years spent traveling and diving around Southeast Asia. After graduating from Penn State University, she earned her Instructor certification in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia, where she then taught for a year and dove with turtles every day! When she’s not teaching at ActionQuest, she works full-time for Global Expeditions Group as an Enrollment Advisor and prepares for the summer.

Jessie - Dive Instructor
Jessie is an Open Water Scuba Instructor who hails from Australia but has most recently been exploring Utila, Honduras. She has dived her entire life and loves nothing more than sharing her passion for the ocean with students. Her qualifications include everything from Open water to Side Mount Diver to Underwater Photography. She enjoys swimming, hiking, and exploring and is always keen on an adventure. This is her first summer with ActionQuest, and she is excited to meet shipmates and share this adventure.
