Bend the rules

We began our day by motoring over to West End, where our journey began. Upon arrival, we cleaned up the boat some as there was a lot of trash needing to be thrown out and general tidying up to do. Once we were finished, we were finally allowed to go to shore and contact family and friends. Most people went to Omar’s Coffee Shop first to get their caffeine for the day. I somehow ended up sitting with a group from the other Dolphin boat while the others were mingling and sharing their socials. The food and drinks were so good that I ended up losing track of time and spent a whole hour at the cafe. Only having so much time left, I went to a souvenir/shirt shop nearby where a few others from our boat were congregating at. After purchasing some shirts, jewelry, and snacks, it was time for everyone to head back to the boat.
Once we got there, we had the unfortunate realization that the Bendy needed even more cleaning, so we got to work. After cleaning every countertop, scrubbing the deck, and sorting out the various clothing items that somehow keep ending up in the wrong places, we were finally ready to move to our next location: the Willy T wreck. It was originally a bar on a ship, but when Hurricane Irma hit and damaged it, the locals decided to sink the ship and turn it into an awesome dive site. Not only is the ship next to the large coral reef, but the locals who sunk it also placed props (mainly pirate skeletons) around the wreck, which created some unique environments for coral to grow. Ned, Claudia, and Mimi all had their advanced certifications, so they were able to go deeper than everyone else (the ocean floor on this dive was past 18 meters which is the limit for open water divers), but thankfully most of the cool stuff was on the deck of the ship so everyone could get close to it. After the dive, we motored over to GHP.
Our chefs, Seven and Delphine, prepare Mexican food for everyone, which is one of the best meals we get. After dinner, we had an optional night dive. I went with Dan and CiCi to make up my night dives for my certification, while Mimi, Gracie, Kylie, Ines, and Hazel went off on their own. The others were tired, so they decided to stay back and shower, and Seven used the time to make a cake for everyone when they got back, which turned out amazing. The dives today were amazing, and I honestly can’t believe the trip is coming to an end in a couple of days.
