The day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived! The staff of Odin II is so excited for our shipmates to arrive! For the past few days, the entire ActionQuest staff has been working tirelessly to prepare the fleet for the upcoming session. Odin II, our home for the next few weeks, has been stuffed to the gills with food, water, fuel, and all the program equipment in preparation for our student's arrival. We cannot express how stoked we are to sail away on our next adventure with a whole new group of Vega students!
Meet the Odin II staff!!!
Matty P (Captain of Boat): As a teenager, I first got into sailing, learning by doing, and racing small 30ft yachts in Hong Kong. I then went to some slightly bigger vessels before spending three months with Seamester in the Indo-Pacific last Autumn. After that adventure, I completed my Master of Yachts and found my way onto a Clipper 70 for a race across the North Pacific. 6000nm later, and we arrived in Seattle, which nicely led me up to this summer with AQ!
James (Captain of Medical): James was born and raised in northern California, never living very far from an ocean. James is very excited to be reuniting with GXG in the British Virgin Islands for a summer full of sailing, diving, watersports, and overall fun! James developed a love for all water sports through his time in California, including sailing, surfing, swimming, water polo, rafting, wakeboarding, and diving. He found his true passion for sailing after a voyage onboard S/Y Argo from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean as a student with Seamester in the fall of 2018. During the school year, James is a student at Baylor University working towards his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In addition, James is also an EMT with about a year of experience in ambulances.
Stef, aka "The Mountain" (Captain of Mountains… and diving): Stef started working for ActionQuest in the summer of 2022 as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. After being a student on Ocean Star with Seamester and receiving her first diving and sailing certifications, she's thrilled to be back to boat life. She especially can't wait to witness students' first breaths underwater and introduce them to another 71% of the world. When she's not exploring the underwater world, Stef enjoys traveling, adventuring in the mountains of Colorado, and discovering new passions. While she enjoys these sports recreationally, Stef is an alpine ski instructor and tennis coach in her hometown. She hopes to discover plenty more dive sites, ski resorts, and tennis courts and share them with others as much as possible.
With love,
Odin II Crew
