Salty Finale
Location: West End, Tortola
Today we started off with Robbies beautiful singing on the guitar. Once we all got up, we started to cook breakfast which was cereal, so it was easy to make. Right after eating, Robbie and I went to the skipper's meeting for the grand finale race. At the meeting, we discussed the race and where we had to go. After the meeting, we got back to the boat and started to get hyped up for the big race. Once we got our call, we hopped off the mooring ball and started to head to the starting line. Once we got to the starting line, we raised our main sheet, and then all got lined up. Then we got our countdown to start. Once it got to 1, we quickly put up the jib and started racing. In the beginning, we were in the middle of the pack and were doing good. Then we started to fall back due to my sailing skills as a skipper. We ended up being dead last. After the racing ended at Peter Island, we started to head back to West End, where it all started. Once we got to West End, we docked up for the rest of our time. After we docked, we started the big boat clean-up, and it was very lit.
We completed a major goal of not dropping any dishes In the water after cleaning all of the dishes, which was a lot. After the clean-up, that took two whole hours. We just hung out with everyone, and it was fun. Then we showered and got ready for the final bbq. Once we were all ready, we headed to the bbq. The bbq was very fun, and the food was great. After we headed back to the boat and we did our final squeeze, it was very emotional but fun. After the squeeze, we hung out with the other boats and just chilled out, then headed back to all of our boats and went to sleep.
