British Virgin Islands - 2022, Session 1

Meet the Staff!

Location: West End, Tortola

Welcome to High on A Breeze! Over the next 21 days, we will be filling you in on all of our adventures, inside jokes, diving, sailing, and general fun-having through this blog. While we wait for our shipmates to arrive today for their very first day, we’d love to introduce you to the staff of High on A Breeze! After two FABULOUS weeks in setup, doing everything from building dinghies and dividing up a mountain of canned food that made us look like doomsday preppers to team building and water sports training, we cannot wait to kick off session 1! Today, we scrubbed the boat from top to bottom, filled every crevice with food, and planned out how we could cram the most excitement possible into 21 days that will surely fly by. We are SO thrilled to meet you all and see what this session holds - but before we do that, let’s tell you a little bit about us.

Meet the Breezy team:

Allie - Co-Skipper, and Medic
Growing up, Allie spent most of her time in the chilly waters of Cape Cod, spending summers working as a lifeguard and watersports instructor at Cape Cod Sea Camps. In the spring of 2020, she went on a Seamester voyage from South Africa to Antigua, where she had the time of her life. Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Cognitive Science - Neuroscience last spring, Allie spent the summer working as a mate at AQ. She loved being able to help others have as great of an experience at ActionQuest as she did at Seamester. Allie got her Master of Yachts license this winter and is so excited to be back at AQ and even more excited for dishy pit dance parties this summer. She is also a MedPIC and will be working on the medical team this summer. When she isn’t on the water (and sometimes when she is), she can be found dancing poorly, faking accents, and finding fun in unsuspecting places.

Emma - Co-Skipper
Emma grew up 3 hours from the nearest ocean in Maryland, but to her, it was always worth the drive! She fell in love with scuba diving while earning her degree in Marine Affairs and Sustainable Business at the University of Miami. While in college, Emma was lucky enough to sail from South Africa to the Caribbean on both S/Y Argo and S/Y Vela. During the school year, Emma can be found teaching high school science. She can’t wait to take a break from the traditional classroom and teach sailing on the water again this summer. If you don’t find her on a boat, you’ll probably see her being towed behind it on a wakeboard!

Gigi - Dive Instructor

This is Gigi. I am a boat captain and dive instructor with seven years of experience from Naples, Italy. I have been working in the dive industry for almost seven years. During that time, I worked for two years in Italy, I traveled and worked two years around Australia, 13 months in the Maldives, and eight months in Thailand, while my last two jobs were in Mallorca, Spain, and Sardinia, Italy. I have experience living onboard positions and sailing. I love sailing, and I have experience driving different boats; I also have an Italian boat license. I like repairing jobs as well and handling employment in general.
