Rhone Day!
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Day 18 was Rhone day, with what was supposed to be a quick start to the day around 6:30. Instead, the boat decided to go fishing, and we pulled up a tree tangled in both our main and secondary anchor. It took us around an hour to get loose of the tree with the help of J.D and Olive, and then we were on our way to Salt Island. When we arrived, we went on a quick hike to the top of the island, where there was an amazing view! Lainey and Elizabeth threw rocks off the cliff into the ocean below, and it was super satisfying. We then made a quick stop for PBandJs before diving the wreck. The dive was amazing, and our group saw some super cool stuff! Sydney and Sarah saw a shark, and Esme saw a Barracuda. After completing the dive, we began our journey to the Bight, and Bryce and Ian attempted to raise our main sail but had to stop due to bad weather conditions. The rain cleared up after a while, and we motored the rest of the way there with plenty of snacks provided by J.D and Loney. After arrival, our crew left for a meeting, and the 11 of us were left to cook dinner by ourselves. Surprisingly we didn’t burn the boat down, and we enjoyed a great pasta dinner! We are finishing the night by writing cards and eating freshly baked chocolate cake. Rhone day is complete!
