Final day
Location: West End, Tortola
I can not believe how fast this trip went by. Although I’m excited to see my family and friends from home, I’m so sad to leave the Action Quest family. Today was an exciting last day. We started with cake for breakfast to prepare us for our sail race. As skipper, I was in charge of steering at the helm. We started off the race slow at around 5th place. However, after our risky tack, we pulled through and ended up winning first place for monohulls and second overall! We don’t count the people who actually won the race as winners, though, because they were a catamaran AND a Go Beyond Boat. After that, we began our cleanup, which we, unfortunately, completed painstakingly slow (however, it was so fun). We had a food fight on the transom during the process in which Murphy, Andrew, and Gabby got especially food covered. After our cleanup, we began to finish writing our appreciation cards to each other and took a quick shower before a beach bbq with all the campers. We stayed there at Omar’s restaurant in West End for around 2 hours, eating hot dogs, cheeseburgers, wings, and much more. Then we came to our boat home to do some last night rituals such as Boat Confessions, Flag Auction, and a final Squeeze. Time really does fly so fast here, but the memories I’ve made will last forever.
