Sea Señora

The day started off with a skipper meeting where all the skippers that day met to talk about the big race day! I was the skipper of the day, so I got to talk strategy with Kris. The race started off shortly after the skipper meeting, and I started off the race on the helm. I got a good head start for the race, and Ozzie, Sally, and Andrea raised the Jib. Cyrus switched out of the helm with me, and he did amazing sailing. Phia, Thomas, Christopher, Axel, Scott, and Colin sat on the high side of the boat and let their legs hang overboard! It helped us keel to the side. We then had to tack for the final straightaway. The tack was great, and we were still in the lead! Sophia, Sally, Thomas, and Christopher were helping on the lines during the tack. Sally then took the helm during the strait away and kept us at a close haul. We kept the lead! Scott then took home the victory by crossing the sailboat and the finish line! It was so exciting, and we were all playing Tokyo drift as we crossed the finish line. We received gold medals and a big trophy. We headed back toward West End, where we deep cleaned the boat. After the deep clean, we got shore time, walked around shops on land, and were able to hang out with other boats. For dinner, we had Omars takeout, and a lot of us either got burgers and hot dogs or ribs and bbq chicken! After dinner, we hung out, started a group chat, and packed up all of our stuff for the flight tomorrow! I can't believe the trip is already over. We will miss each other and all of the fun in the BVI.
