Meet the Staff
Location: West End, Tortola
Hello and welcome to the Sea Señora blog, where we will be sharing our journey with you. We would like to share some information about the staff that will be sailing with the incoming shipmates. For the last 2 weeks, staff has been working hard to prepare for arrival day. Hard work has been put in to ensure that our vessels are cleaned, fooded, and prepared for the great adventure that we are able to embark on. Time has been spent servicing and testing out all the water toys that shipmates will have the opportunity to try out. Our AQ dock is looking rather good but not quite great. It takes the remainder of our crew, our shipmates, to make this journey possible and to make the dock look magnificent… So here are the staff for Sea Señora…
Kris: Skipper
Krisztian started to sail when he was 12 years old, and it was an instant love. Being out at sea meant absolute freedom for him, so he kept looking for every possibility to improve his knowledge and to spend more time on the water. As he turned 18, he got his first skipper qualification “C” category skipper license in Croatia. During this time, he also started to dive and got his open water diver qualification. It did not take long to realize that being at sea is his true calling, and he has to follow that path in life. The next step was to gain his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification in the UK, which was an amazing experience and gave him the chance to learn yet another style of sailing and extension of his knowledge and understanding of this amazing art form.
Julia (AKA Box): Mate and Medical Staff
Julia has always loved the water despite growing up in landlocked Colorado. She swam throughout her childhood and college. When she wasn’t in class or at the pool, she spent her time in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, practicing yoga or learning new crafts. With an adventurer as a father, at just 1 and a half years old, she was on a boat sailing the BVI. Since she has been on sailing trips with her family every few years, and also attended a summer Seamester program in 2019. There she was exposed to scuba diving, which deepened her love for the water. Julia studied Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University and worked as a Certified Nursing Aide. She has had many titles over the last couple of years in addition to a CNA. She claims that the most filling was as an ice cream scooper, the most playful as a preschool teacher, and the one with the most sunshine as a lifeguard. Her inner adventurer and value for the importance of medicine decided it was time to move outside with her medical knowledge, and she became Wilderness First Responder certified. Julia is always looking forward to being in and on the water for the summer.
Jessica (AKA Stich): Dive Instructor
After she took her first breath underwater, Jessica knew she wanted to become a dive instructor. Once she completed her degree in Hospitality Management at The Ohio State University, she returned home to Florida to make that dream a reality. She loves teaching the open water class and seeing the excitement on student’s faces for the first time underwater. In her free time, she likes to stay active and try new restaurants.
Please join us on this thrilling adventure,
Kris, Box, and Stich
