Moko Jumbie Staff Update Day 1

Location: West End, Tortola

The crew of Moko Jumbie is extremely excited for the arrival of our shipmates. Weeks of preparation and training are about to lead into the best summer ever. Our boat is filled with food, PADI training manuals, and dive gear, and all that's missing is our fourteen students. We can't wait to see how our crew comes together to face the challenges and laughs that they will share along the way.
Here is an introduction to the crew of Moko Jumbie:
Davis- skipper/dive instructor
Davis graduated from Eckerd College in 2015 with a creative writing major and has spent his summers working at ActionQuest and teaching diving in the Bahamas. Since graduating he has spent more time diving in the Bahamas, as well as working on yachts and sailboats in the Caribbean and Florida.
Oscar- dive instructor/mate
Oscar is currently a college student at Kenyon college studying Modern Languages/Literature and Studio Art. He is fluent in English and French and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese. This coming fall Oscar will be studying Mandarin Chinese in Hangzhou, China, and in the Spring he will be studying in Montpellier, France. Oscar has been a shipmate with ActionQuest from 2010 - 2015 and has been staff since 2016.
Maddy- dive instructor/mate/WFR
Maddy grew up in Toronto, Canada. She now attends the University of British Columbia, where she studies applied biology with a focus on marine mammals. Despite her landlocked location, Maddy has loved the ocean and marine biology ever since she was a young girl and has been diving for as long as she can remember. She has had a fascination with marine mammals in particular ever since she visited family in South Africa when she was just 5 years old. Maddy is a qualified Open Water Scuba Instructor as well as a Wilderness First Responder. For several years she was a shipmate herself at ActionQuest and has developed a strong love and passion for the British Virgin Islands. When she is not scuba diving, she can be found skiing at Whistler in between classes or doing yoga with her friends.
