Staff Update Day 1
Location: West End, Tortola
Shipmate arrival is drawing near, and the staff is transitioning their boats for Session II. Zourite had a spectacular first session training the Divemasters for their first professional PADI certification and is looking forward to the next! The boats have been fueled, watered, filled to the brim with delicious meals, and are ready to set sail. We are ready to explore some amazing locations throughout the British Virgin Islands, not to mention all the sailing, diving, hiking, building sandcastles, BBQs, and awesome dance parties. Jake will be our skipper while Lisa with be assisting with sailing as well as teaching diving. We are going to have a fantastic adventure! Be sure to stay up to date with our blog, and we will see you again in 3 weeks time!
Here is an introduction to the crew of Zourite:
Jake: Skipper/Dive Instructor
Easily recognizable by the constant smile on his face, Jake is the director of the Divemaster program and coordinates our introductory dive programs. Brought into diving by his mom, Jake has experience diving all over the world, from the murky, freezing waters of the Great Lakes to the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean. After returning home from a life-changing trip with ActionQuest in 2005, Jake knew he had to become involved with the program. Now, as a skipper and PADI instructor, Jake strives to provide his shipmates with the same incredible experience he had as a student. Jake recently made the move to Sarasota and manages enrollment and business development for ActionQuest.
Lisa: Dive Instructor / Mate
Even as a child, Lisa could be found adventuring on the lakes and rivers of Wisconsin. After completing a B.S. in Zoology and Biological Aspects of Conservation in 2004, she immediately set out to quench her wanderlust. Being passionate about human-powered travel, Lisa has traversed many countries on foot and pedal bikes. Wanting to get back to the water, she pursued her first professional dive rating in Honduras in 2011 and has not dried out since. Lisa is now a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and is planning to advance her sailing and teaching skills as an educator with ActionQuest.
